Consistency + standards - Minimum Violation
- There is an inconsistent experience on the site with the usage of Google Docs embedded as an iFrame vs. information shared across the site natively
Match between system and real world - Mild Violation
- Language used on the site is not easily understandable and human friendly. The word “hack” has a negative connotation
Error prevention - Mild Violations
- Error is introduced when users sign up for Slack, GitHub, or any of the other sites attributed to projects and tracking
Aesthetic and minimalist design - Mild Violation
- Inconsistent experience on the site and need to context switch from CFTC’s site to other pages
- Too minimalist of a design, the site is meant for users who already understand the site and there isn’t much orientation to understand what is expected when you volunteer for the first time
Recognition rather than recall - Severe violation
- Users need to remember the projects they are interested in and then sign up on a completely different site, Meetup.com, and then try to recall the project name and details to sign up
