Christopher Centers

I'm a techno-dextrous designer (user-experience design & industrial design) with a passion for adventure, problem-solving, and making an impact through design. Along with design in all its forms, I am a foodie that loves Japanese food, Burmese food, and a good NY bagel. When I'm not working on design, I love attending/hosting social gatherings or going on adventures with my family.
More about me

“Design is a plan for arranging elements in such a way as best to accomplish a particular purpose.”

— Charles Eames

My Philosophy

One thing I’ve learned is that no matter how amazing a designer you think you are, if you aren’t designing around a solid user experience, you are never going to be successful. Users are the livelihood of any company and they want mindful, user-centered, products.
More about me

“Care and Quality are internal and external aspects of the same thing. A person who sees Quality and feels it as he works is a person who cares. A person who cares about what he sees and does is a person who’s bound to have some characteristic of quality.”

Design Director

Industrial Design and CMF

"Chris worked for my team as an industrial designer at Spectrum Brands - Remington Products. He was a passionate designer who endeavored to be thorough in his approach.  To this end, Chris always made it a point to dive deep into all aspects of what he was developing.  He was very keen to discover and fix concerns with usability and functionality with the items we designed.

I’ve often seen designers get lost in their own thoughts when developing items.  This is OK for concept phases, but when executing in a finalization phase, you need focus and speed.  Chris knows to address these different development phases appropriately.  His execution on finalization efforts was impressively fast.

Chris wasn’t afraid to speak his mind and made sure to share all details of development as we traveled through the design process.  He engaged other members of the team on a consistent basis and was incredibly inclusive at all times.

I recommend Chris as an addition to any design team. His speed and skill will not disappoint."

"Chris may be the hardest-working person I know. I originally met him while he was working on his design degree, working 20 hours a week at a restaurant, and working another 10-20 hours a week as an apartment building manager. He is not scared of long hours, nor of rolling up his sleeves and learning new things.

Chris is naturally inquisitive and intelligent. In addition, he has a knack for product design that I did not fully appreciate until I had been working at Facebook for several years and grew to comprehend the difficulty and importance of this skill. He can produce quick, intuitive sketches with ease, and is meticulous in building polished, detailed, well-thought-out designs.

He communicates clearly in-person, and (in my opinion) his work speaks even more resonantly of his ideas and vision. He would be a ready fit for any team. Chris has the ability, the work ethic, and the willingness to learn that will make him a strong addition to any company."
